Give the good things a system.

How many versions of your business are out there?

There’s the one on your website. The one in your latest proposal. The one your founder describes over coffee. And possibly one still living in a presentation from 2019.

Each might make sense on its own. Together, they can leave customers doing the work of joining them up.

This often happens as a business grows. People create what they need, when they need it. A better explanation emerges in a sales meeting but never reaches the website.

A few shared tools can help: a clear business description, agreed messages, useful templates and examples of what good content looks like.

They make it easier for the whole team to use the thinking you’ve already invested in.

The interesting question is where to begin.

If you lined up the things customers see most often, would they recognise the same business in all of them?
